So excited to publish this story! Here is one of the many reasons that this podcast started! My midwife!

Yvonne come into our lives half way though our pregnancy as our backup midwife, we were a bit apprehensive at first as we already formed such a solid relationship with our main midwife. However, after spending the first hour with Yvonne we were all giggles and love! We found her to be a compassionate, skilled midwife with so much integrity.

Here Yvonne tells her birth Journeys beginning in 1984 where she describes a very interesting experience of a doctor that rocks up to her birth in gumboots and plastic jacket! SO big QUESTION HERE.. whats has changed in the past 30 odd years?? Well to me the feelings still remain for many women, and the feeling for birthing for a better humanity is there. We are still facing the same violation of a womens rights in birth in 2016 as we were in 1984… Medical advancements have made great progress, yet to the detriment of who and what?? The many conversations

I had with Yvonne during my pregnancy really stuck with the sheer determination of this woman, she is a midwife, a mother and a advocate for womens rights, this happened to her from a feeling, and we can all connect with that feeling right?. We are in a position now to heal and from the healing we can honour the woman and her baby as a whole, not two seperate beings… We are as one.!

From Yvonne – “Women have to remember they have the voice and they have the choice.. Remember its them that birth their baby”..
