On January 16, hundreds of people marched in central Taipei in support of migrant workers’ rights. The protesters say they want Taiwan’s government to relax its strict rules on switching employers. They say the rules are “exploitative”, and that they’re responsible for creating a form of “modern slave labor.” Staś Butler spoke to one of the organizers of the march, Wu Jing-ru (吳靜如) from the Taiwan International Workers’ Association, to find out more.
