A child-abuse reporting bill has been proposed by Calgary-West United Conservative MLA Mike Ellis; Bill 216. Inspired by the Serenity case, the bill states an adult must report to police any child who needs intervention or serve a penalty of 6 months in jail or a $10, 000 fine.
