Mike moved to Alaska at the age of ten from Orange Grove, Mississippi. He graduated from Anchorage High School and the University of San Francisco, and is currently in the Master of Arts program at Alaska Pacific University. He is still active in Chilkoot Charlie’s, the business he started on January 1, 1970.
