The man who introduced a Netflix subscription model to football season tickets

As the cost of living crisis escalates, the traditional season ticket sales within football is under immense pressure.

How can football clubs find new ways of selling season tickets to their most loyal fans when a lot of these fans are stressed financially and maybe can not afford a full year’s payment in one go?

Subscription models are one possible solution to this challenge, and the Danish top tier club FC Copenhagen introduced this payment model to their fans with great success as early as back in 2018.

But the idea didn’t start there. It actually started already back in 2012-13 when FC Copenhagen’s Ticketing and Customer Service Manager since 2015, Mikkel Bjerre, was Project Coordinator at his first football club - Randers FC.

He also shares how subscriptions have worked out for The Lions at their home turf Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, and explains why data should be the backbone of every decision within a ticketing department.
