I can’t say enough about Mikkeller, their innovation and global outreach is simply awesome. They are from Denmark and then San Diego, but have expanded throughout the world.

This beer is a double IPA at 8.8% with Kveik (ka-wike) Yeast. This yeast is an ancient Nordic yeast that is hot hot hot right now with brewers. It brings out “farmhouse” like flavors, which means it should be slightly sour and crisp.

They also added ID 7 and Rakau Hops. I can’t wait to hit up one of their breweries or brewpubs. One is in SF, so I might have to make a quick day trip here soon.

Bear Republic brewery is another great brewery that is known for their Racer 5 IPA (delish!). They are out of Cloverdale, Ca or the northern California wine country region in other words.

I have been to this brewery and talked about it in another episode.

I drink their “Challenge Series 11” double brut IPA with citra and galaxy hops.

It is an 8% beer that should not disappoint as their other beers are hella good.
