It’s been a busy busy week over here at Mildly Spiraling aka my life. I traveled to LA for three nights and slept in some very comfortable hotel beds which obviously is an absolute love.
I got back to New York City and got to participate in some amazing events- a poetry reading down the Hudson river, seeing the Strokes and Beach House in Concert, and oh just a surprise visit from AOC and Bernie.
The end of the week has been tough with my next cycle’s IVF baseline appointment not going as I’d hoped. It can be really tough, heavy, lonely (all the things) out there with severe DOR and sometimes I just want to lay down with one of my bean bag pillows over my eyes and shut it all out.
It’s a jam-packed episode with lots of updates, fun life adventures and not so fun life adventures, but life adventures none the less so I hope you’ll tune in!
As always you can email your loves and spirals to [email protected] and I’ll read them on the pod in Season 3!! You can also follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and Substack at mildlyspiralingpod and like, subscribe, and rate the pod wherever you listen!
Welcome to Season 3 Episode 7 of the pod. I guess this episode is all about sleep and how much I love it because I mention it about three times on this week’s podcast episode. It’s been a rainy and windy last three days in New York City from this Nor-Easter and it’s making me extra sleepy. I think my ideal day would probably be a day in bed, cuddled up with my two dogs with a good book.
I’m traveling for work soon while estrogen priming and if I know anything it’s that my period likes to come early once I start estrogen, so I’m mentally preparing for the sheer panic that may happen if my period comes early in the week versus later in the week. I’m planning to pack a lunchbox of IVF meds to travel with and need to figure out scans and how I am going to make all of this work which is proving to be very stressful.
It’s a fun episode even if I sound super stressed writing about it all now, so I hope you’ll tune in!

If you thought last episode was chaotic, wait until you listen to this one!
No notes, very few thoughts in my head, but I thought, "why not release a podcast episode where I'm at my worst?!" lol anyway enjoy!!

Welcome to the Chaos Zone! I’ve been sick for the last two weeks and if you can’t tell from my voice after listening to this week’s episode of the podcast I still haven’t fully recovered. No clue what it was, but it had me in bed for a week and I’m still so tired I feel like I could sleep for 24 hours straight. It kind of reminds me of when my doctor made me take a mono test, and it was negative, but showed that I’d had it at some point. Never tested then, but still feel like I’m walking around with it a decade later.
Anyway, this summer kinda sucked, but I’m thinking of ways to make the fall a bit better. One is dressing in a way that feels like me. Not just throwing on sweatshorts and a shirt that makes me look semi-professional. No hate to sweatshorts because I was literally wearing them for half the day today. I’m also doing classes and exploring things I love- another poetry class with a poet from Ireland and a tap dancing class. I love dancing and I’m super excited for this one.
Listeners, I haven’t had any good fruit this summer. What’s going on? I’m desperate for some good fruit. If you had some amazing fruit this summer please send tips my way. I had like one good New Jersey peach and that’s it, but I really feel like I’ve missed out and need some of the juicy goodness in my life.
My brain is churning again and I’m not sure if any of this even makes sense, but alas I’m sticking to it and I’m happy you’re here!

What can I say, this week’s episode is a whirlwind and chaotic in what I hope is the best way possible. Honestly, I’ve been so exhausted I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to record an episode this week, but after a pep talk in the bathroom mirror I made it to my office, set up a mic, and started chatting. Of course I had a plan, I always have a plan. Crickets, crickets.
If you love dogs, both of my senior girlies join me throughout the video so if you haven’t tuned into the pod before and you want to see my hair in an absolutely frightful state or see two cute dogs might I recommend tuning into the video.
I’m too tired to think of anything else to write so tune in and listen, ok love you bye!!

Oh listeners, it's been a really hard week and I’m not in the best spirits, but recording the podcast felt like a little place of solace that I could process my feelings and find some joy. Did I also spend $20 on Swedish gummies to cope? Yes, yes I did…
I got some not great IVF news this week, and it’s made me feel even more so on the verge of tears at any given moment. I’m starting to find it really hard to pretend everything’s ok while getting bad news almost daily at this point.
I’m so glad that the conversation about fertility checks, egg freezing, and IVF is growing with AOC sharing her process. I think it’s so important and I’m so happy for younger women who will grow up in a world where it is so much more normalized and accessible. Making it more accessible and affordable is so important and something I will continue to fight for even after my journey is over.
I also touch on some other loves and spirals in the zeitgeist this week including 90s movies like Heavyweights (a love!), Overtsimulation and dehumanization and the rise of social media, and tomatoes because we are in the height of tomato season and it’s glorious!
I hope you’ll tune in even if it’s more of a somber episode. I appreciate every listen, like, subscribe, and review. Ok love you bye!!

Is this entire episode a spiral? Yes, yes it is. Want to hear hormones take control over my entire personality? Well listen in! I’m kidding, I’m still a very rational and stable human being. It’s annoying, really.
If you’re new here, well, welcome! I give a little background on my fertility journey thus far to get you all up to speed. One of the reasons I share so much of my fertility journey here even though I didn’t set out for this to be a fertility podcast is because when I started my journey so few people were talking about it and there weren’t many resources out there. When I did find podcasts and instagrams focusing on it, I felt a little less alone. I felt a lot of shame around infertility at first, but talking about it and being open about my journey has helped get me out of that shame spiral.
Onto less serious topics, I explore some current loves and obsessions like how I really want to get into bedazzling. I’ve never bedazzled a thing in my life, but I’m thinking a PWHL jersey may be my first foray into it because spending $500 on a new craft sounds smart, right?
What else, what else… Oh!! Just spiraling about Influencer culture, overconsumption, and capitalism. I’ve also got two listener submissions, so tune in to hear those too!

We’re back for Season 3 of the podcast! I can’t quite believe how quickly the first two thirds of the summer has gone by. To say it’s been a stressful summer would be the ultimate understatement.
I don’t think I’ve even had a second to breathe and I’m already gearing up for my next round of IVF with a nice little estrogen sticker on my stomach right now. A little sticker just chilling on my stomach, giving me a headache and making me feel like I’m hideeeeooooouuuus.
I’m so excited to be back for season 3, and this week I have all the updates on my stressed out summer (SOS) as I call it. I’ve also got lots of loves and lots of spirals. So, tune in!
