Miles Anderson: No need to worry over latest bovis news

Listen Later

Federated Farmers say a potential new bovis notification won't be going anywhere.
44 suspected cases of Mycoplasma bovis have been pinpointed to the country's biggest intensive farming operation in South Canterbury.
But Federated Farmers animal welfare spokesman Miles Anderson says the cattle don't officially have the disease.
He says the property is "under notice", meaning 44 of their animals were sourced from a property with the disease.
"They are chasing it down. At least, in this case, they don't go any further., The animals are not going to other farms. There's no chance they will spread it to other farms."
Anderson says tests are being carried out on the isolated animals.
