Everyone has a fundamental human right to adequate housing. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of themself and of their family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services.” Yet, Malaysians by and large simply cannot afford to buy a house anymore.
