I am a born creative with a distinctive enthusiasm for life.
Born in Guildford, Surrey in '85, my family moved to Durban, RSA in 1991 in search of brighter weather.
My inclination toward creativity led me to starring in school plays throughout my young scholarly life, and starting my own newspaper at 12. My proclivity toward dramatics directed me to radio, where I began interning at 13, and took my first role at 16.
I majored in Art at High School, & studied Graphic Design at one of RSA's leading schools for the discipline: Natal Technikon.
My career path deviated in my 20’s as I pursued a "calling" to the clergy. I served as a Pastor for 7 yrs helping our small church gain wider impact in the community.
By 2012, a growing passion for business compelled me to exit the ministry and co-found an ATL outdoor advertising company.
To supplement income, I contracted at one of RSA’s largest radio stations East Coast Radio, producing for their Breakfast Show. Additionally, I maintained a successful blog that won a total of three SA Blog Awards.
After 4 yrs my company morphed into a full service marketing agency, and shortly thereafter landed the marketing contract for Africa's leading water storage provider "SBS Tanks".
Simultaneously, my personal blog about technology and philosophy was garnering attention, and my own interest in economics led me to Bitcoin. My early writings about cryptoassets earned me a reputation as an early crypto adopter, and by 2016 the founders of “SA Crypto” invited me to take over their project (now the country’s largest digital community).
The new venture required me to part ways with the SBS Group in order to nurture SA Crypto to its full potential, and after careful consideration I indeed made the choice to take over the community.
From SA Crypto’s foundational platform my newly formed team and I launched the country's first dedicated news site for the industry in 2018. We then strategised a rebrand to “Global Crypto” in early 2020 and have garnered widespread international recognition.
The founders of SA/Global Crypto formed a holding company to oversee the brand, which would also serve as a marketing & media agency specifically serving the FinTech industry: “SwiftX PTY Ltd”, where I would serve as Director of Content.
I currently serve in this role in a consulting capacity, but primarily oversee the strategic trajectory of Global Crypto. I also facilitate a growing career in writing and public speaking on the subjects of technology and philosophy.
