Mina Blair has written a book about her healing journey after the death of her daughter, Francesca. The book Not for the last time starts with Francesca’s final illness and death, which is not depressing though it is sad. Mina then goes on to describe her experiences with clergy, friends, family, and her own inner journey, coming to terms with what has happened and finding ways to thrive again. The book is inspiring. Mina’s writing is very accessible, and allows the reader into her experience. It is both intimate and matter-of-fact.
Life involves constant change, and change includes loss. How we weather losses, especially the big painful ones, affects our well-being at all levels; physical, psychological, spiritual. This book offers perspective on experiencing devastating loss and finding one’s way back to life.
Music by: Buffalo Springfield, Rosanne Cash, Yoko Ono, Rodney Crowell, and The Rolling Stones
