Mind Body Resource: Carl Rogers

Listen Later

10 min.  Maureen & Pierre laugh about the opening line of their podcast:  What are we talking about today???!!!

Pierre and Maureen discuss acceptance and change in the context of a quote from Carl Rogers.  Maureen helps Pierre distinguish Carl Rogers from the 'pyramid dude' (Abraham Maslow) and asks about  a paradox which Rogers thought held deep meaning.  The paradox and quote:  the more a person becomes themself, the more they see themself, and others around them, change.

Discussion revolves around the importance of stillness in understanding.  How change in humans is realized.

Podcast finishes up with a brief introduction of 3 psychotherapists interviews with "Gloria" as a compare and contrast study in styles of therapeutic interaction.  The three therapists are:  Carl Rogers, Albert Ellis and Fritz Perls.  Enjoy!
