The sower cannot expect to yield good fruits if he or she sows on soil with rocks, thorns or by the wayside. Jesus in his parable of the sower (Matthew 13: 1-9, 18-23) emphasized the importance of the good soil, yet never said we should abandon the unfruitful soil. Deliverance is the means of clearing the stones and thorns from the soil and securing the wayside.
