For anyone who lives as a member of a marginalized or target group, barriers and privileges often loom. In addition, discouragement often rears its ugly head in the form of acquaintances. Common statements such as "You're unrealistic," "That's too hard," "We'll see" and many others are openly said to individuals on the spectrum. Yet, autistics don't have to let the opinions of others define who they are.
Announcement:
Kayla Rodriguiz, who is an autistic self-advocate who represents the Latino and the LGBT community, will be featured on my show next Sunday. She will talk to me about "Tokenism in the Workplace." She and I will be on the Powerhouse Strong Panel with three other lovely women who are also on the spectrum. We will talk about neurodiversity, autism, acceptance, and inclusion in the work environment. If you know Kayla, you will not want to miss this.
Also, if you would like to follow me, please do so. You may also find me on Spotify, WordPress, Spreaker, and follow me on social media. I am on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
