PTSD Treatments:
- Trauma-focused therapy. This includes structured therapies like trauma-focused CBT,
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE). These approaches help you process what happened, reduce avoidance, and shift beliefs that got stuck after trauma.
- EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is another evidence-based therapy that helps some people reprocess traumatic memories so they feel less intense and less present.
- Skills-based support. Some people start with stabilization and skills: grounding, emotion regulation, and body-based strategies. This can be especially important when you feel easily overwhelmed.
- Medication. Some people benefit from medication for sleep, anxiety, or depression symptoms alongside therapy. A licensed prescriber can help you weigh options, risks, and benefits.
