I am sure you have heard the term "mindfulness" quite a bit lately. The term itself comes from the Buddhist culture, however it is often found in other cultures as well, it's just called something different. 

So what is really behind this "mindfulness" concept? It is simply being aware of life going on all around you. The importance of being present in the moment is often spoken of in Jewish traditions. Calling it "today", as each moment connects us to past as well as to the future. 

Life is made up of a series of moments each connecting to one another. Within these moments are both happy and sad, moments of plenty and those of want. The importance of staying in the moment is to experience it fully, because it will soon be a thing of the past. This is true of the good as well as the bad. However, both should be experienced equally, because each type will be a thing of the past. 

So be in the moment, right now, live in "today" because tomorrow has its own moments to experience.
