Welcome to my review and summary Eckhart Tolle's book, A New Earth. In part 1, I review the first two sections of chapter 1: Evocation & The Purpose Of This Book... In my reviews and summaries my intention is to state the information in a simple, concise, clear manner, no more, no less.   The evocation explains how the arising of human consciousness has been evolving for thousands of years. Sometimes in in evolution there's a sudden abnormal progression in certain life forms...  Most likely it's the environment that causes these extreme changes in unique life forms. It seems that mankind is lost in an unconscious state of dysfunction and is on the verge of awakening to a life of rising above thought through awareness.   The purpose of this book is to help people awaken out of the dysfunctional ego dominated state. Ego is identification with form... thoughts, emotions, roles, beliefs, and everything that gives you a sense of identity... By recognizing the way the ego works , you can clearly identify this human condition and grow by seeing these common deficiencies. lf we know the ways of the ego it can be our teacher and we can learn valuable lessons.
