There's a puppy in Tanya's house named Bowen. He isdelightful, chaotic, and completely his project, not hers. And holding that line, even when it's uncomfortable, even when someone has thoughts about it, is teaching her something she didn't expect.
This week's episode is about what actually shows up on theother side of stopping. Not the victory lap version. The Tuesday afternoonversion, where you held the boundary, didn't apologize for it, and noticed something unfamiliar in the space where the managing used to be.
Quiet. Not empty. Quiet.
Tanya also gets into the people in her life who have a lotof thoughts about how she's doing things now, and why she's genuinely okay with that in a way she couldn't have been before.
If you can see the pattern but can't quite putit down yet, this one is for you.

There are two unfinished projects in my backyard.
They've been there since June. My husband is a literal handyman, which means our house projects sit at the very bottom of a very long professional priority list, and I have spent years being the one who quietly moved them up his anyway.
Not this time.
The old version of me would have found the contractor by now. Made the calls. Managed the whole thing to completion and said nothing useful about any of it, because saying something useful would have required admitting I was doing it again. Taking over. Filling the gap. Making it work so nobody had to feel the discomfort of it not working.
The projects are still sitting there.
And something else happened while I was stewing about it.
I planned a trip. Not his trip. Mine. Told him he was welcome to come, it wasn't a beach, and he didn't get to complain about a single damn thing. He said yes enthusiastically and gave me ideas about what he'd like to do. And what I realized in that moment stopped me cold.
I had been solving for a problem he wasn't even having.
That's what this episode is about. Not the projects. Not the trip. The pattern underneath both of them. And what rewiring it actually looks like on a Tuesday afternoon when it's not triumphant, not clean, just holding.
Let's get into it.

You didn't choose to become the one who holds it all together. You just got very good at it, and somewhere along the way, that version of you started feeling like the real you.
In this episode, Dr. Tanya Berfield gets personal about the quiet, uncomfortable work of recognizing an identity you built around what the room needed from you, and what it costs when the room stays the same but you don't. She talks about navigating grown kids, changing family dynamics, a mother who still calls to tell her what to do, and the particular exhaustion that comes not from doing too much but from managing yourself so efficiently around everyone else that you've lost track of what you actually need.
This isn't burnout as a deficiency. It's burnout as a message. And the starting point isn't a strategy. It's seeing the contract clearly enough to know it was built, not born.
If you've ever said yes before your brain joined the meeting, stayed in a dynamic longer than it deserved, or felt guilty after a perfectly reasonable boundary, this one is for you.

You've been calling it exhaustion. And you're not wrong. Butunderneath the exhaustion, if you get quiet enough to actually look, there's usually something else waiting.
This week, Dr. Tanya Berfield starts with a story about anew puppy, a robot vacuum named Rosie, and a Tuesday that went completely sideways, and ends up somewhere much more honest. About the anger that lives under the tired. About why we're so much better at naming exhaustion thannaming what's actually causing it. And about why recognition, just seeing it clearly without fixing it, is sometimes exactly enough.
If you've been running on empty and wondering why nothing is actually helping, this one is for you.

You already know you over-give. What you might not know is where that pattern actually started, and why it's not the generosity it looks like from the outside.
In this solo episode I get personal, about the parents who raised me, the belief I absorbed before I could even name it, and the nervous system science behind why "being loved" started feeling like something you have to earn. We do a full guided hand-on-heart breathwork practice together so you can actually find where that pattern lives in your body, not just understand it in your head.
This isn't about blaming anyone. It's about finally putting down a weight you've been carrying so long you forgot you were carrying it.

Last month we talked about imposter syndrome. This month we talk about what comes after it: real confidence, not the performed kind.
I sat down live with Jen Kohler, numerologist and business mentor, to talk about the difference between being sold on yourself and just acting like you are. We get into what confidence actually looks like in the nervous system, why boundaries build it faster than affirmations do, and the numerology reading that named something I had been circling for months without saying out loud.
This episode was recorded live on Substack. If you want to catch these conversations as they happen, that's where to find me first.

She had two choices in that meeting, and she chose the one that let her carry it all the way home.
Pop off, or shrink. That's the trap most high-functioning women have been living in for years, and it has nothing to do with confidence. It has everything to do with a nervous system that learned somewhere along the way that taking up space isn't safe.
If you've ever sat in a room knowing you were the most qualified person in it and still said nothing, this episode is for you.
This week, Dr. Tanya breaks down the real difference between performed confidence and regulated confidence, why your credentials have never been the problem, and leads a live somatic practice to help you locate where performed confidence lives in your body.

If you have ever pulled back right when something wasworking, gotten sick the moment you pushed through your comfort zone, or told yourself you needed one more credential before you were ready, this episode is for you.
Dr. Tanya Berfield sits down with Jennifer Dragonette, podcast authority architect and visibility strategist, for a conversation that goes places most imposter syndrome content never reaches. Not the mindset version. The body version. The throat that tightens. The sickness that shows upon cue. The retreat that looks responsible but is actually fear wearing a very convincing disguise.
Jennifer has built a career helping women get visible andshe is one of the most honest voices in the room about how hard that is when your nervous system is still running a very old program. In this episode she and Dr. Tanya unpack where imposter syndrome actually lives in the body, why high-achieving women are wired to pull back right before the breakthrough, and what it actually takes to interrupt the pattern.
They also pull an oracle card live. It lands exactly whereyou would expect it to.

You have been doing the work. Reading the books. Saying the affirmations. And you still feel it in your gut when you walk into certain rooms.
That is because imposter syndrome is not living in your thoughts. It is living in your body.
In this episode, Dr. Tanya Berfield opens June's Mindset Medicine series on imposter syndrome by naming what nobody else is saying, this is not a confidence problem, it is a disconnection problem. And if it is lodged somewhere, it can be moved.
This episode covers:
This is the Acknowledge phase of Mindset Medicine. We are not fixing anything today. We are just stopping pretending it is not there.
