This episode explores the inner experience of public speaking — not as a performance skill to master, but as a relationship with fear, self-perception, and internal narrative.
Many people carry long-standing stories about public speaking: doubts about their voice, their presence, their competence, or how they might be judged. These narratives are often shaped by earlier experiences and quietly reinforced over time, turning anticipation into anxiety.
Rather than focusing on techniques or performance tricks, I explore how these stories form and how they can be questioned. This includes reflecting on past experiences, acknowledging the effort you’ve already made, and recognising how growth often happens without us noticing.
We look at how to relate differently to anxious thoughts — not by suppressing them, but by creating some distance from them. Fear doesn’t need to be eliminated to speak; it needs to be understood. When the inner dialogue becomes more balanced, confidence tends to follow as a by-product rather than a goal.
This episode may be useful if you:
feel anxious about speaking or presenting
struggle with self-judgment or negative anticipation
want a calmer, more grounded relationship with visibility
prefer mindset shifts over surface-level tips
The intention isn’t to push you onto a stage, but to reduce unnecessary suffering around the idea of being seen and heard. When the internal story changes, the experience of speaking often changes with it.
