BENGALURU: Mindtree cofounder Rostow Ravanan plans to start a Software as a Service ( SaaS ) company that will focus on the healthcare and manufacturing sectors.“The traditional IT services companies are hardly exciting.

So I want to use the opportunity and understand a different market in the area of SaaS.

The primary focus of this firm will be on healthcare and manufacturing industry sectors,” Ravanan told ET.SaaS companies host their applications on the cloud and rent them out to customers.He said the emergence of startups with digital technology-focused enterprise solutions was exciting, although he refused to put a timeframe on when his firm would become operational.

Ravanan may sell some shares in Mindtree to initially fund the new venture that will target enterprises.
