God created us in the Garden of Eden with a purpose - to subdue the Earth. Basically, that means he created the resources and told us to make a civilization and build a world for humans to thrive in. That is our original purpose as humans, and it is a purpose that will never change. 

Do you know what that means?? We'll be doing all of it in eternity with God. So often we think about eternity as something that doesn't seem all that exciting. But if we look at Genesis chapter 1, we can find a blueprint for our God-given purpose, which will only grow stronger in eternity. Construction, engineering, writing music, running businesses, cooking meals... these are all things that "subdue" the earth, and they are all things that we will be doing in eternity.
