The boys (well, Kroyler really) talk about the pros and cons of taking a minimalist approach to training in BJJ. If you follow people like Tim Ferriss, you know about the 80/20 rule, or the Pareto principle. Meaning you get 80% of your results from 20% of your efforts. Following this logic, why not just get really good at a few things in BJJ and become deadly with them? This came to the forefront of our minds to ask the question based on a recent article about Roger Gracie saying you only need to be good in a few areas of jiu jitsu. While there are some good reasons to have an A game, meaning being really good in a few aspects of BJJ, Kroyler points out the many facets that make it overall not the best thing for your long term game plan.
