In this week’s minisode, Abi & Meghan get back into something they started doing in season 1 — mental health check-ins. They debrief a few of the events of the past week, including the verdict in the murder of George Floyd. Turns out, exhaustion and anxiety are at the forefront of how they’re feeling lately. Abi shares how exhausted she’s feeling from the endless cycle of racial grief and trauma. Meghan shares how she is trying to make friends with her anxiety. They also discuss the need for people, particularly white people, to stay informed and show up for communities experiencing systemic racism and racial trauma so that the community in peril can have the opportunity to check out as needed. Afterwards, they get into listener feedback on parenting in the digital age. Survey says, Google plays a big part in parenting for a lot of the GM community. Mid-minisode, Meghan & Abi realize they have no idea what age range of children are parented by the GM podcast listeners. So stay tuned to IG for an upcoming poll! They’re wondering if that might explain why only a few survey respondents said they leave kids to their own devices (you see what we did there?). They wrap up the minisode with some listener-generated benefits and concerns about parenting in the digital world.
