Hello listeners, Coach Kate here for a Wednesday motivation minute. So Wednesdays can be tough, right? But they can also be hopeful as we look towards that end of the week and weekend ahead-- whether it's for fun, or rest, or catching up on the things and people we love-- most everybody loves weekends. Sometimes we get so caught up in the go-go-go of the week we don't take a minute to allow ourselves a little rest too.
So today, in our mid-week check in here, I thought we could highlight the importance of rest with a wonderful quote from the brilliantly funny and poignant author, Anne Lamott, here's what she has to say about rest:
"almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes-- including you."
So giving ourselves a little midweek pause here, today I thought I would ask you all:
What are some ways you can unplug and reset today?
What are some ways you can lean into rest?
How will that set you up for finishing out the week, and also enjoying the weekend ahead?
Focusing on rest not as a diversion, but as a need will help reset your mind-frame around its importance, not only for the weekend but it will also for whenever it may be needed, whether that's for mid-week, day to day, or even when we are most busy too.
Our minds and bodies need rest, so if rest feels a little over-indulgent today, that's probably a sign you need to indulge a little more to create a better relationship with rest and resetting yourself in the future. So today, feel free to take some time, unplug, and see what ways rest can serve you.
Thanks again for listening. Feel free to follow me for more minute motivations and insights as we grow along this space together. I hope you all enjoy a little more rest today.
