Two women were struck by an out-of-control taxi that mounted the curb in Manhattan, New York City. One woman was thrown down a flight of stairs into a cellar, whilst the other was flung to the side of the vehicle. Despite the severity of the crash, the driver and both pedestrians were hospitalised and are expected to make a full recovery.
