Episode 13: Arianna interviews Sabbyiana (she/her). Sabbyiana is a Lesbian, Latina Drag Queen born and raised in Montebello. In this episode, Sabbyiana talks about her journey with PMDD, being a cisgender lesbian woman in the drag scene and her humble beginnings, her drag accomplishments & coming out in a “non-traditional” kind of way.
Sabbyiana is a full-time drag queen based in Los Angeles, California who has been dazzling audiences since she began her drag journey in 2019. Her talent and charisma have earned her prestigious titles, including winner of the Alaska Thunderfuck Lip Sync Contest, Drag Queen of the Year Pageant Category “Talent” Winner 2019, and Queen of Emerald Village 2023-2024. Sabbyiana has shared the stage /collaborated with icons like Trixie Mattel and Alaska Thunderfuck. Episode 12: Arianna interviews Alejandra Quiroz. Alejandra Quiroz is a producer, director, and podcast host from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and currently based in Los Angeles, California. Driven by a passion for amplifying BIPOC voices, she is committed to increasing representation both in front of and behind the camera, with a particular focus on uplifting Central American stories.
Alejandra's journey began with a B.A. in Cinema and Television Arts and Central American Studies from Cal State Northridge, where she fused her love for storytelling with her cultural roots. In 2020, she launched Central American Voices, a podcast dedicated to sharing untold stories from Central Americans across the globe, fostering connection and understanding within the diaspora. By 2022, Alejandra founded her own production company, Our Lú Productions, specializing in creating powerful films and music videos. Her work is a reflection of her mission: to bring underrepresented narratives to the forefront of media.

Episode 7: Arianna interviews Erika Snyder, a native Angeleno from the San Fernando Valley, who is pursuing her PhD degree at UCSB. Erika talks about her childhood fascination with all things science, coping with grief at a young age, and her resilient and tenacious nature lead her to where she is today.
Erika Snyder is a 23-year-old PhD student entering the second year of my PhD in Biomolecular Science and Engineering at UC Santa Barbara. Her childhood consisted of running around in the hills, collecting specimens (bugs, plants), and caring for injured wildlife. She was part of the Southwestern Herpetology Society for many years.
While the loss of her father at age 17 marked her life and her family's life, it instilled a deep grittiness and tenacity to overcome. Today, she works in an immunology lab that studies how immune cells respond to signals in cancer cells. One of her goals is to mentor undergraduate students interested in research, particularly women from underrepresented backgrounds.Outside of work, she collects vinyl records, reads, and cares for her plant collection.

Jess Melgar Alvarez is a labor and employment attorney that specializes in benefits and union work. Jess earned her undergraduate degrees in English and Political Science from UC Davis. She later earned her law school degree from McGeorge School of Law. As an attorney, Jess champions for workers rights in the workplace, ranging from wage and hour violations, sexual harassment, and violations of worker’s rights to unionize.
When she is not busy running after her toddler, Jess is running for fun, reading, diving into her faith, or fulfilling her love of writing. Fun Fact: She met her now husband in a meet-cute at work.
