Kauthar, a close friend of mine being from Ethiopian and Somalian background however born and raised in South Africa is currently 9 months pregnant. She went for a check up on the babys' status and the Dr. at the clinic asked her why the South African government had given Kauthar an ID, and that her baby was not growing well. Worse of all the Dr. mentioned that Kauthars baby was not growing well and she didn’t provide any further information or explanation to what the Dr. meant. Is this how we treat our pregnant women at public institutions? Kauthar has made arrangements to do her check up at a private institution.
