In the scripture for today, the writer of Hebrews has misread Genesis, largely by not continuing to read to the end of the story of Jacob and Esau. In our day, people sometimes make that same kind of mistake when they quote the Bible without having read to the end of the story. Sometimes those misreadings can do a great deal of harm.
