Reader, I Murdered Him

Missing: Hal Hartman

Listen Later

Margaret and Hal Hartman had just one dream for the entirety of their lives together. To own a house, so that they could provide their only daughter with the stability and security of a place that would always be there for her. A kind of stability neither Margaret nor Hal had had growing up themselves.

And while their daughter was nearly grown by the time they managed it, Margaret and Hal eventually did it.

But just three short years into owning their dream house, Hal Hartman goes missing. Leaving his daughter Katherine to wonder how long he’s really been gone, and why her mother has refused to talk to the police.

And as Katherine and local law enforcement start asking questions about Hal and his disappearance, they start to uncover more than they’d ever imagined. As one couple’s dream turns into a nightmare they never could have expected.

Today episode is based on the book, The September House by Carissa Orlando.
