In a recent Parliamentary QNA session Bheki Cele the South African Police Minister

admitted that in the last 3 years more than 4500 women and children had been

abducted. This stat is alarming and highlights the very real danger faced by women and

children on an everyday basis. While this stat is concerning there is another alarming

trend, the spreading of fake missing persons and abduction information through the use

of Social media.
