Few shows have engendered as much loyalty in one season as Joss Whedon's Firefly. Among its cast was Alan Tudyk as the pilot Hoban "Wash" Washburne, who is now beloved by Star Wars fans as Rogue One's wisecracking 'droid K-2SO. Cancelled due to the FOX network's nincompoopery, nonetheless fans got Serenity, a movie promising to give some sense of closure about their beloved characters.
