Exploring the many ways technology and tech leaders are reshaping and re-imagining how we work and live in today’s ever-changing world.
Transformation Nation PodcastOn this episode, Chief Digital Technology Officer and your host, Anna Frazzetto, interviews Jennifer Taylor, President and CEO of Northern Virginia Technology Council. NVTC is one of the largest and most influential tech councils in the nation, representing the greater Washington region. What do they provide? Connection, education, and advocacy for their members, so that they can go on to grow and advance a thriving tech ecosystem.
Jennifer joined the NVTC team about six months ago to step into the honorary role of President and CEO. Her vision is clear: she wants the organization to become the most vibrant and collaborative tech community in the world. Although that may sound like a distant dream, Jennifer is up to the challenge, with community members backing her, including big names like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Samsung, and Verizon, and tech government contractors like SAIC & CACI.
Last year, like many other organizations, NVTC had to pivot from their frequent and well-known in-person member events to the virtual environment. The transition was bumpy at first, but Jennifer notes that the accelerated atmosphere has produced more connections than ever before, resulting in a 75% increase in both the number of events and the number of member engagements – talk about momentum!
As the conversation continues, Anna and Jennifer discuss what’s on the horizon for NVTC, Jennifer’s ideas on filling the skills gap between tech needs and supply, and her unique approach to setting up DE&I programs and committees. We hope you enjoy this episode!
