The soul is designed to be on mission. Without it, we often feel lost, frustrated or confused. So we pursue mission with all we have... but what if mission was never meant to be our focus?

Mission feeds a sense of accomplishment, that I can do something outside of simply myself. That I can be a part of something bigger. 

Mission gives purpose to the soul.

We strive for clarity in confusion, it's uncomfortable not to have a mission or feel a clear sense of direction. The concept of being at peace with the questions of life is difficult for us. We move towards clarity sometimes at the expense of faith and peace in the unknown. 

Kingdom mission is often a byproduct of a relationship with Jesus, to focus on a mission can often lead a soul to miss Jesus. 

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)   |   “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

1 Timothy 4:1-4 (NIV)   |   "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

To live on mission means to lean into risk and hardship, there will be failure and fear, but without such, there is no faith, which is the ultimate display of living on mission. 

As a soul builds faith and trust in the mission given to us, we begin to experience the natural byproducts of such a lifestyle:

Mission then becomes less of the focus and our relationship with Jesus becomes our soul's delight.
