Mission Moment – November 2025
Good day, CRM,
This is your president/CEO, Trina Fullard, with your MissionMoment for November 2025. Last month, Ihad the pleasure of sitting on a bench for 24 hours in support of bringingawareness to World Homeless Day. Citygate, our national membership organization, created the opportunitycalled Conversations on a Bench to showcase the resources that are available toindividuals who are searching for life transformation, but are currently facinghomelessness, substance use disorders, and other mental health challenges. Wow is all I can say about that 24-hourperiod of time. When they say time flieswhen you are having fun, I can honestly say I experienced it first hand.
I want to thank the team of staff members who helped withthe organization, planning, and execution of the event. I was not out there for 24 hours on myown. The conversations that I had withso many individuals charged my battery one conversation at a time. I spoke with employees, community partners, current and former residents, donors, our board chair, and even the mayor cameto sit with me and talk about how Charlotte Rescue Mission supports thecommunity. She’s a big fan of CommunityMatters Café.
What I learned during those 24 hours is that God has blessedme tremendously. His gift to me is toserve this organization to the best of my ability. The men and women who cross our thresholdslooking for a new way of life are met with caring and compassionate teammembers who share in the joy of walking alongside them.
No, it’s not always easy. The struggle is real for our residents, and the fact that they decidedto turn their will over and seek help gives us the opportunity to restorehope. So, as I sat on the bench and heldover 60 conversations in 24 hours, I was filled with joy for the work we areblessed to do and the life transformation we are blessed to witness every day.
Thank you all for your willingness to answer God’s call ofservice to others and to make Charlotte Rescue Mission a fantastic place towork.
