Australians are some of the most travelled people per capita in the whole world. There’s something in us that gives us a desire to travel to the nations. Unfortunately we do have a bit of a bad reputation in some countries for the way we behave. But I actually believe that one of the redemptive gifts on this nation, is that we’re called to be missionaries to the world. In Matthew 28, Jesus said “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them all the things I have commanded you. And I will be with you until the very end of the age. Maybe God’s opening a door for you to go on a short term mission trip or even a long term trip. Many Aussie missionaries are going to places like Africa, Asia, The Middle East, The Islands. Maybe God is stirring your heart to go out to preach the Gospel among the nations. Or maybe just to care for the poor while you’re there. Maybe you should go to the nations or maybe you should just start in your own backyard. Charles Spurgeon says “Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter”. When you hear a quote like that it really makes you think.
