This is the next in a series of Positive Parenting Pep Talks from Dreikur's book, "The Challenge of Parenthood."
In this series, I am using ideas from the book, written in 1948, and putting a modern day perspective to the topic.
This topic in the book seemed mostly outdated and regarding inappropriate affection and attention.
However, I found the comments he made about the results of excessive affection toward children to be similar to when we pamper our children.
