Being myself is not finding a hidden perfect version of who I am. It can look many different ways with different people too. It can even look like learning to recognize when you are being performative or people pleasing. There is not something to fix about yourself but learning to accept who you are as you.
What happens when your instinct tells you one thing, but your ego tells you another? Or what if they both work hand in hand to keep you in the same place? In this episode, I dive deeper into the tension between the part of us that simply feels and the part of us that constantly asks, “What does this say about me?” A deeper look at identity, fear, self-image, and the quiet space between impulse and choice. A new perspective....
I don't think we lose ourselves overnight. I think it happens so slowly that we barely notice it. One comfortable choice after another. The conversations we avoid because it's easier. We tell ourselves we'll chase "someday." And before we know it, we're living on autopilot, following routines we've grown used to instead of asking if they're still true to who we are. Maybe, just maybe, finding yourself isn't about becoming someone completely different. But about having the courage to let go of what's familiar so you can reconnect with the person you've been underneath it all.
This podcast aims to help me and others find a sense of self in a chaotic, fast-paced, and disengaged world. We often find it hard to slow down. To sit with ourselves, ask the hard questions to find the root deeper inside, we have yet to uncover about ourselves. The goal is not to answer your questions about yourself but to help you reengage with who you are and help you think deeper about yourself, as I am as well. I am learning, and I hope you are too.
