There is an old adage that says something to the effect of "If you don't know where you are going how can you ever get there"?  That is probably not exactly correct, but the point remains that you need to determine where it is you would like to wind up.  If you do this it is just a matter of figuring out the path to get there and following it.  Simple Right?  Not So Much.
