The Mocha SMCs sit down with the founder of the Single Mothers by Choice movement - Jane Mattes. In the early 1980s when SMCing wasn't really a thing (or at least wasn't enough of a thing for there to be a name for it), Jane was sitting around her dining room table with a few other mothers who'd chosen single motherhood prior to their children being born. They decided to name their version of single parent - Single Mothers by Choice. Janes talks to us about what it was like in the beginning, how the community has evolved, and her own journey as a Single Mother by Choice.
