Season 3 - Episode 20 - The Playoffs! - How can we not start with them. Wow! Are you surprised already? Happy? Sad? With the outcomes? We are in production of our Podcast BEFORE the Braves vs Phillies series has been decided. Amazingly, all the other series are over! Yes, short and sweet!
Yankees 2 Games to 0 over the Red Sox
This one was brutal if you are a Red Sox fan and what you didn’t expect if you are a Yankee fan. You gotta admit…this series the Yankees looked good. The Red Sox, obviously playing .500 since their May-June streak had shot their load. They just didn’t hit, pitch or play worth a shit. That’s the Playoffs…they were COLD entering the playoffs and it was their death. The Yankees riding Cam Schlittler and Max Fried, PLUS scoring 18 runs to the Red Sox 2, made this a quick killing. Now…can the Yanks compete with the Rays?
White Sox 2 Games to 0 over Astros
Another nice easy series win for the surprising White Sox. Shit, the friggin’ Astros did not even deserve home field advantage in my book. The AL West winner was the sacrificial lamb who was rightly executed…Next….The Guardians…ohhhh boy.

Season 3 - Episode 19 - 30 Teams In A Season …We have talked about many fan experiences, and what perhaps the best one can be. With all the new perks at many of today’s modern ballparks, it can be quite cool. But, the act of going to a game, is still one that all the technology and graphics cannot beat. That feeling of walking thru the main entrance and seeing the field in the background. Whether you are a fan of that team or seeing that stadium the first time, it’s still a pretty WOW feeling. Do you get like that still? Or are you used to going to a stadium and there is no longer a WOW factor? Are you talking more about the cost of parking? How crowded it was to get there? Is that reality or…..I don’t know. But I do know that I still anticipate seeing the field, walking out from the concourse. Being a fucking fan… It’s the escape to the ballpark.
This season, I was made aware of the quest by a friend’s son to attend a game in ALL 30 MLB parks. He got hooked by baseball and wanted to do this in a single season. Perhaps he was a late bloomer as they say in baseball. Maybe…but, he is doing something this year that ALL baseball fans would LOVE to do. This shoutout in amazement goes to a lifelong friends’ son …Rich Sill.

Season 3 - Episode 18 - Rookie Impacts and More …There is a trend this year of some awesome rookies making their presence known. But first…$3.9 Billion Dollars… That is what the Angels were sold for this week! Arte Moreno who has owned the Angels since 2003, has just sold the team to Stan Kroenke (Crun-Key). ANGEL fans…time to rejoice! The difference in how the team will be managed should be Night and Day with Kroenke’s successful management of his other teams. Look for a much more competitive and aggressive approach compared to Moreno’s decade of losing seasons. I hope he plans on FIRING ALL BASEBALL personal. They deserve it. The fiasco of WASTING over $70 million the past years between Trout and Rendon, the dumb ass move of retaining Ohtani when he was NOT going to be signed are just recent non moves that hurt the team. Their roster looks like a who’s who of unwanted, disappointing failures from every other team all together on the Angels.

Season 3 - Episode 17 - Triple Crown? …Holy Cow, can this be happening THIS year? In case you are NOT aware, there is a player in Houston who has everyone talking about Mickey Mantle lately. Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros is having a career year for sure!
In his 8th year with the Houston Astros, Yordan Alvarez is putting it ALL together. He is leading in 11 offensive categories THIS year, not for his career but THIS year! At 29, he is threatening something that has NOT happened in 70 years! In 1956, Mickey Mantle in his 5th year with the Yankees led the Majors in ALL Triple Crown categories.
Mickey completed the year winning the Batting Title at .353.
Leading the Majors in HRs with 52
Leading the Majors in RBIs with 130.
He was the LAST player to win the Triple Crown and lead both the AL and NL in theses stats.
When was the last time a player even won the Triple Crown? Do you remember? Do you care? Are you ONLY into the new analytically stats thinking big deal…whatever. Sorry, but winning the Triple Crown is STILL a BIG deal!

Season 3 - Episode 16 - What a Deadline! …WOW, what a DEADLINE! Before we dive into the deals did you ever wonder how this term started? The Trade Deadline gets a lot of play now, as we anticipate teams fine tuning themselves for the final part of the season. But did it always exist?
Origin of the MLB Trading Deadline
The MLB Trading Deadline was established to prevent teams from making trades late in the season that could unfairly influence playoff outcomes. This technique became more noticeable after the New York Yankees' trade of Joe Dugan in 1922, which raised concerns about competitive integrity. See? Competitive balance concerns all the way back to 1922!
Initial Date: The deadline was originally set for June 15. Over the years, the deadline was moved to July 31, where it remained for many decades.

Season 3 - Episode 15 - AllStar Wrap Up and More WOW…We will dive into the All Star game and some players and try to sort out some of the HOT and cold teams of late. Lets get started….
All Star Game
With our every other week podcast schedule sometimes I think it’s too long between segments? Let me know what YOU think, every week or every other. So…remember the All Star game? Lol The game had a lot of good energy I thought from Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. We do not see a whole lot of All Star game shutouts so this one at 4-0 American League was kinda surprising. How ironic that 3 out of the 4 runs knocked in were by Yankees, Cody Bellinger (Who won MVP) and Ben Rice. As the Yankees have been struggling for big hits lately as well. Citizens Bank Park always looks good packed and it looked good with 43, 916 fans at the game.
Pretty good mix of veterans and rookies at this game. The American League had whopping 19 first time participants, the National League had 17. Wow! The pitching staffs were loaded with first time All Stars. The 2026 MLB All-Star Game featured a total of 15 strikeouts. This performance set a record for the National League, which struggled against the American League's pitching staff throughout the game. The AL and NL combined for 27 strikeouts in the game. It was a TRUE representation of todays game…All or nothing philosophy. Even ALL STARS do not make contact like players USED to. Which made me think, yes there were a lot of new faces in the game. What about the veterans of today’s game?

Season 3 - Episode 14 - HALF WAY! WOW…We are seeing some contrasting moves by some teams right now!. As we hit that 90’ish games play level what is going on with some teams? Let us start with the team known for it’s collapse in June. The June Swoon of the NY Yankees. Check out these records?
American League East
2026- June 12 -14
2025 - June 13 - 14
2024 - June 14 - 13
2023 - June 10 -15
2022 - June 22 - 6
2021 - June 12 - 14
Are you kidding me? 5 out of 6 years Aaron Boone’s teams have crapped out in June. The typical June Swoon for the Yankees has them in second place 4 GB the Tampa Bay Rays. Another collapse in June…WHY? Do the Yankees management even care? Guess not, because seriously, 5 out of 6 years? That’s consistency in areas you do not want to be consistent in. MOST teams would end the tenure of the manager…but not the Yankees.

Season 3 - Episode 13 - Are YOU Ready For CBA Updates? I’m not really sure if I’m ready to discuss this. We are in the preliminary stages of negotiating the next Collective Bargain Agreement (The CBA), between owners and players. You have to interested in this if you are a baseball fan, because the topics and agendas of both parties spell TROUBLE. Strikes suck and piss off everyone. Can it be avoided though? This is like the Nuclear War of baseball. It is NOT 1994. Meaning…if baseball was to strike…The fans would just say…Fuck it, and move on to something else. Think I’m outta touch with that, the players AND Owners agree on that one. Currently we are in the early stages of negotiation, where both parties are looking for fan support. This will continue through the summer, as you will see different proposals and stands “leaked” to the media.
What do YOU think?

This is Season 3 - Episode 12, “What’s On YOUR Mind”, and we welcome you to the podcast. In doing this podcast, we have tried to stay away from topics that you can see on ESPN or MLB Network or even your local news cast. We have tried to be a little different at times. It gets a little hard we've produced 75 podcast now and sometimes we do need to look back.
The Uecker Line
For instance it is still a dilemma in the game with batting averages. At this point in this season, we have completed approximately 60 games for most teams. Can you imagine that the leaders and I hate to use that term leader but Manny Machado leads the major leagues in the worst average for a regular player he has 238 at bats and he's batting .172 holy cow .172! Manny Machado it's not just that it's on base percentage is pitiful. It's slugging is pitiful who's number 2 on this list, Dansby Swanson of the Cubs is hitting .178 holy cow, Evan Carter of the Texas Rangers .178, Cedric Mullins of the Tampa Bay Rays .189, Nolan Gorman 3B from the Cardinals is hitting .194, Adolis Garcia of the Phillies has played 67 games and is hitting .195, Salvador Perez of the Royals has played 63 games with 244 at bat and he still hitting .197 holy cow, and there's a slew of players hitting under .210.
Now, there was a VERY colorful character who passed away January 16, 2025, at the age of 90, and that was Bob Uecker. We dedicated a podcast to Bob Uecker asking for sportscasters and baseball people to make a change, in respect to Bob Uecker. Yes, I’m talking about the Uecker Line!

Geez, Some wild games and results it seems like this year. OK, I guess we have to dive right into this. What is going on this year with scoring runs teams are given up a lot of runs this year and we've got some strange results so far all right you know we've talked about this in the podcast numerous times as it's our main topic of discussion, the imploding bullpens, but are you seeing a change in starters? Are you seeing them go perhaps a little more than the four and five innings we've had in recent years if you look at the top starters in the major leagues right now as a team, could you guess the top five I don't think it would surprise you surprisingly the Milwaukee Brewers have given up only 91 runs from their starters with a nice 3.06 ERA , number two is the Tampa Bay Rays 92 runs, the Yankees have given up only 112 runs, the Braves are next with 113 and rounding out the top five, the Dodgers with 116. That is no real surprise with those names. Those teams have been playing pretty well this year and they seem to be using their starters more than their relievers. Who are the bottom Starters? This will make a lot of sense to you, the San Francisco Giants starters have given up 172 runs. Almost twice as much as the Brewers who lead MLB.
