Hello Mogpies! This week we stick to our backyard. California is putting an interesting idea in place and calling it Care Court. This new program will give people with mental illness treatment, whether they. want it or not. There are some skeptics of this program, where some are very excited for this. While on paper it sounds like it can be incredibly beneficial for those that were not able to receive the help they need, but the way it is being handled and distributed is rather concerning. From the long list of people that can give you a court order to be apart of this program and if you fail the program you can then end up hospitalized and/or loose your rights. There is a lot of things that are scary here and we really need to pay attention to this because this could be adopted by. other states as well. And it can just be a way to clear the street legally.
