This music was inspired by happy memories of an old friend and colleague, who died recently. It brings to mind two incidents: an unsuccessful attempt to teach me to waltz during a night shift and a lovely weekend afternoon spent with her and another friend, CU, when I think I learnt to sing Blaydon Races. The music draws heavily on two traditional melodies: Blaydon Races and Waters of the Tyne. I used a version of Blaydon Races found on traditionalmusic.co.uk as a starting point for this arrangement. It also includes the melody of Waters of the Tyne , which I transcribed into G Major. (NOTE: THIS IS THE REMIXED VERSION)
