The World Cup starts tomorrow.

But tonight, football can wait.

After a day wandering Miami’s colourful Wynwood district, Rob heads into Little Havana in search of fans, stories and perhaps the first signs of tournament fever.

Instead he finds something else.

Cuban music drifts through the streets. Dominoes click in the park. A packed bar watches the NBA Finals beneath a giant pineapple-shaped stage. Mojitos are flowing, tacos are exceptional, and nobody seems particularly interested in football just yet.

It’s a reminder that host cities don’t stop being themselves when the World Cup arrives. Before the crowds, the chants and the opening ceremony, Miami is simply Miami.
