Mom Life In Quarantine With Andrea Greene

Listen Later

Met Andrea Greene,a mother of two young-ish children (6 and 4), a wife, a small business owner of two companies @beans_treats @beans_events and an employee of a Monday to Friday career for a major financial institution. I am not busy at all.

I became a mother at the ripe age of 24. I was one of the first in my friend group to be a parent and it was very much like navigating through uncharted waters. I am a very “fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants” type of person. Before children I didn’t really “plan” anything. I didn’t take prenatal classes and I didn’t have a “birthing plan.” Having kids has made me slightly more structured, but I like to think I swing both ways.
My parenting philosophy is simple and ever changing. Presently I am reminded that no one great has never had a struggle. It’s ok for my kids to not have the “perfect” childhood and it is my job to forgive myself in any mistakes that I make. Every day I tell my children that they are incredible, heavily favoured by God and that I genuinely love them- unconditionally.
Being a young-ish mom has made me realize how hard parenting is and how we do not give nearly enough support to single moms, nor young mothers. In this short time that I have been a parent I have learned a fair amount on not judging others, being empathetic and checking in on someone who may really need it. I’m here for all my mommas... it truly takes a village.
