We initially connected on Instagram: she in Australia, I in Jamaica (visiting). This episode is our DM conversations, turned in a podcast episode. Just two moms navigating a divorce, swapping advice and tales.

Her Divorce Profile: Was married for 9 years. Been separated for 1 year. Two children (under 10 years old). Was a stay-at-home mom for 6 years.

We learned that we have a lot in common and found connection in the overlap of our stories.

In the episode, we chat about being a mom of two small children while navigating a divorce- how to talk to them about it and how to recognize behavioral changes in them. We also talk about changing our names post-divorce. She has chosen a brand new last name! Not the one she had when she was married, and not the one she was born with!....which I find fascinating and totally understand.

We also both define "single motherhood" and what it means to us individually.

And toward the end, her response to "Thanks Divorce for _________" is heart-warming and powerful.
