Mon Jan 15th, '24 - Daily Weather for Houston

Listen Later

Good morning, Houston! This is your weather for Monday, January 15th, 2024, and let me just say, Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! I hope you're ready to start this holiday with a cozy sweater because it's looking a bit nippy out there today.
Kicking things off this morning, we're hovering around 38 degrees. You might want to wrap up warm as you head out for any commemorations or community service events in honor of MLK Day. As we move into the daytime, it's not getting much warmer, folks---expect a high of just 39 degrees. So, it's one of those days when Houston feels more like a cooler city up north!
Heading into the evening, temperatures are going to stay steady at about 37 degrees, and by nightfall, we're dipping to our low of 36 degrees. Not quite "Houston, we have a problem" cold, but you'll definitely want that jacket if you're stepping out.
The skies are going to be like a big, gray blanket today with overcast clouds all day long. No rain or snow on the horizon, but with humidity at 72 percent, the air has that moist chill that seeps into your bones---you know what I'm talking about.
A light breeze from the north at about 6 miles per hour will be refreshing if you're out and about---just enough to remind you it's winter without tossing your hair all over the place.
So, for all you Houstonians, whether you're honoring the day with reflection or are out and about, stick with layers and perhaps a warm beverage in hand. And remember, as you enjoy your day, if you appreciate starting your day informed, share this weather podcast with a local and leave a 5-star review. It's a great way to help friends and neighbors in our wonderful city stay on top of the weather just like you.
Thanks for tuning in, and I'll be here for you tomorrow with the latest update. Have a great Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Houston!
