The Petersburg Borough Assembly last week accepted Island Refrigerations's application to buy a piece of borough-owned tideland; the Metlakatla Indian Community is receiving $2 million in federal funding for it's tribally-owned salmon hatchery; last month swimmers participated in an open-water race in Sitka Sound.
