An alternate title for the magnificat could be "Mary's Song of Thanksgiving". In middle-eastern culture, Mary would have shared in the honor given to Jesus, as his mother. Yet she displays humility and love toward her family, as she stays with Elizabeth to help her and Zechariah. Pastor Josh finishes with a reminder to study scripture, that it may pervade our being and bring fruit!
