Baylor Scott & White Health has broken ground on a new hospital in Willow Park — the first inpatient facility of its kind in this part of Parker County. The 19,000-square-foot, fully licensed hospital will be located at 5400 East Interstate 20 Service Road South and will feature eight inpatient beds and eight emergency department beds, along with advanced imaging and primary care services. The $15 million project was reported by The Community News and is expected to be completed by late December 2026, putting local inpatient and emergency care within reach of Parker County families for the first time without a long drive to Fort Worth.
FATAL CRASH — PARKER COUNTY COUPLE, HOOD COUNTY
Parker County woman Charla Spinler — a graduate of Weatherford High School — was killed on March 14th in a crash on US Highway 377 in Hood County. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, she and her husband Daniel Spinler were stopped in their Ford Explorer when Tyler Morgan Wallace failed to control his speed and rear-ended them. Charla Spinler died from her injuries. Daniel Spinler was airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital in critical condition. Wallace was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, and unlawful carry of a weapon. He reportedly showed signs of intoxication during a standardized field test at the scene. The Weatherford Democrat reported on the charges.

The City of Weatherford is hosting a Food Park Lounge Night at Heritage Park on Tuesday, March 24th, starting at 6 PM. The event is at 315 Santa Fe Drive and will feature live music, local food vendors, and yard games. Free and family-friendly.

Chuck Norris — the martial arts champion and star of the long-running CBS series Walker, Texas Ranger — passed away Thursday, March 19th, in Hawaii following a sudden medical emergency. He was 86. His family confirmed the news Friday morning, saying he was surrounded by loved ones and at peace. Norris spent nine seasons as Cordell Walker, a Texas Ranger dispensing justice across the Lone Star State — a show that has remained a fixture of syndicated television and a cultural touchstone across Texas and DFW.
