What happens when we keep a running list of everything our spouse has done wrong?
In this episode of Monday Marriage Minute, Steve and Tina talk about the power of our attitude, the freedom of forgiveness, and why love “keeps no record of wrongs.”
From watching our tone and assuming the best in our spouse, to recognizing what’s happening in our own heart, small changes can make a big difference in a marriage. Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay—it means choosing not to carry the offense anymore or continually make your spouse repay a debt you’ve already forgiven.
Sometimes the most freeing thing we can do is take our spouse off our hook and put them on God’s—trusting Him to work in their heart while we allow Him to work in ours.
Because stronger marriages start with healthier hearts. ❤️

When Mom & Dad Fight: Protecting Your Child’s Sense of Security
Your kids may not understand what you’re arguing about—but they can feel when something isn’t right.
In this episode of Monday Marriage Minute, Steve and Tina share from personal experience as two people who both grew up in broken homes. They talk about how conflict between parents can affect a child’s sense of safety and how some of those feelings can follow them well into adulthood.
They also share what they decided to do differently in their own marriage: protect their children from unhealthy conflict while still teaching them that disagreements happen—and that relationships can be repaired.
You’ll hear practical encouragement about creating a secure home, modeling healthy conflict, apologizing when you get it wrong, and reminding your children that Mom and Dad’s disagreements are never their responsibility.
Your children don’t need to see a perfect marriage. They need to see a safe one—where love, forgiveness, and repair are practiced.
Because stronger marriages start with healthier hearts.

What if you deeply love your spouse—but they aren’t always feeling loved?
In this episode of Monday Marriage Minute with Steve & Tina, we’re talking about the Five Love Languages and why learning to love your spouse in the way they receive love can completely change your marriage.
After 40 years of marriage, we’ve learned that we naturally tend to give love the way we want to receive it. But real connection often requires becoming a student of your spouse.
Tina’s primary love language is Quality Time, while Steve’s is Physical Touch. Those differences have taught us that loving each other well takes intentionality. Sometimes the thing that means the most to your spouse may not come naturally to you—and that’s exactly where choosing to love becomes so powerful.
We also share the incredible story of a couple who came into one of our marriage classes preparing for divorce. After discovering each other’s love languages and learning how to reconnect, their marriage began to change—and years later, they’re still together.
In this episode:
• Why emotional connection matters in marriage
• How to identify what makes your spouse feel loved
• Why we often give love the way we want to receive it
• Quality Time vs. Physical Touch in our own marriage
• How childhood experiences can influence what feels meaningful to us
• Why you should never stop dating your spouse
This week’s challenge: Ask your spouse, “What makes you feel most loved by me?” Then be intentional about doing more of it.
Stronger marriages begin with healthier hearts. ❤️

What if five minutes a week could change the way you communicate in your marriage?
In this episode of Monday Marriage Minute, Steve and Tina share a simple habit that has made a big difference in their 40 years of marriage: the weekly check-in.
It’s a safe, judgment-free conversation where you can ask, “Are we good? Is there anything we need to talk about?” — and give your spouse room to be honest without immediately becoming defensive.
Steve and Tina also share personally about how old wounds, rejection, and unhealed hurts can show up in marriage, and why learning to listen instead of defend can completely change the conversation.
Because the goal isn’t to win. The goal is to understand.
In this episode:
• How to create a safe space for honest communication
• Why you shouldn’t wait for conflict to talk
• The importance of not “punishing” your spouse for being honest
• How childhood wounds can affect marriage communication
• Why healing your own heart can help heal your marriage
Stronger marriages start with healthier hearts. ❤️
Join Steve & Tina every Monday for one simple truth to help you understand your spouse, heal what’s underneath the conflict, and love each other a little better.

In the first episode, we talk about some of the deepest needds husbands and wives bring into marriage: a husband's need to feel respected and a wife's desire to feel emotionally secure, seen, heard, protected, and loved.
They also share why unresolved wounds from our past can quietly follow us into marriage and affect the way we love our spouse. Tina shares a piece of her own heart healing journey and how allowing God to heal those places changed not only her marriage, but the way she loved her family.
